Reconnecting Industry, Ecology, and Community
The Cleveland Steelyard Neighborhood Expansion reimagines a fragmented post-industrial landscape as a connected, mixed-use district organized around restored waterways, green infrastructure, and human-scaled development. Rather than erasing the site’s industrial character, the design uses its infrastructure, river corridors, and transportation networks as the framework for a new urban fabric—introducing walkable streets, transit connections, riverfront trails, public landscapes, and environmentally conscious development. The proposal transforms formerly isolated industrial land into a resilient neighborhood where business, education, recreation, and ecology work together to establish a new model for sustainable growth in Cleveland.
